Overview

KRUDO managed the end-to-end relocation of an entire forging hall at the Mercedes-Benz factory in Untertürkheim. The project combined marketing, exclusive privately negotiated sales, dismantling, and international shipment of fully automated forging press lines. Execution required tight coordination across commercial and operational streams to ensure a controlled transition from Germany to Turkiye & India.

The Challenge

Relocating a complete forging hall involves extreme technical and logistical complexity. The equipment was fully automated, heavy-duty, and deeply embedded in production workflows. In parallel, the assets had to be marketed and sold through private negotiations while preserving value and equipment integrity during dismantling and shipment. In total, the project involved 7 forging lines including induction furnaces, forging presses, conveyors, trimming presses and cooling towers covering approximately 1700 tonnes of machinery.

KRUDO’s Approach

KRUDO acted as a single accountable partner, integrating commercial execution with physical relocation. The team led the private sale of the forging press lines while designing a dismantling and logistics plan aligned with buyer and seller requirements. Disassembly was sequenced to protect critical components, followed by coordinated rail, road, and sea transport to Asia.

Execution Highlights

  • Exclusive privately negotiated sales structure
  • Dismantling of complete, fully automated forging press lines
  • Multi-modal logistics using rail, road, and sea transport
  • Unified project management covering sales, dismantling, and shipping
  • Total project duration: 9 months

Outcome

The forging hall was successfully dismantled, sold, and relocated to Asia under a controlled, multi-modal logistics strategy. The project demonstrated KRUDO’s ability to execute large-scale industrial transitions that combine complex commercial arrangements with technically demanding relocation work.

4 Lines were relocated to Turkiye, while 3 were relocated to India.
