Normalizing Furnace

HUTMASZPROJEKT

High-Capacity Thermal Treatment and Normalizing System

This large-scale industrial furnace is designed for the critical heat treatment (normalizing) of seamless pipes prior to the calibration process. Originally engineered by Hutmaszprojekt and significantly modernized in 2015 to comply with contemporary technical standards, the unit ensures structural homogenization and grain refinement by heating pipes to a precise austenitic range, maintaining high throughput for the entire production line.

Technical Details

  • Equipment Type: Continuous Normalizing Furnace
  • Manufacturer: Hutmaszprojekt
  • Manufacturing Year: 1985
  • Modernization Year: 2015
  • Primary Purpose: Normalizing heat treatment of seamless pipes (pre-calibration)
  • Nominal Processing Temperature: 850 °C – 950 °C
  • Operating Temperature Delta: Heating from 550 °C to 900 °C
  • Hearth / Chamber Dimensions: 15.00 m x 5.98 m
  • Maximum Mass Capacity: 70 Mg/h
  • Thermal Output (Power): 13.68 MW
  • Fuel Specification: Natural Gas
  • Target Charge Dimensions:
    • Diameter Range: 121 mm – 273 mm
    • Wall Thickness: 5 mm – 16 mm
    • Maximum Pipe Length: 13.8 m
  • Process Integration: The furnace is specifically calibrated for a "re-heat" cycle, which leverages the residual heat from the rolling process to reduce energy intensity
  • Dimensional Throughput: The 15 m chamber depth is perfectly spec'd to accommodate the 13.8 m maximum pipe length with sufficient clearance for uniform heat distribution across the longitudinal axis
